A KW/h in Ontario costs approximately 5.8 for the first
1000 kw/h and then 6.7 cents for every KW/h above that.
However we pay a lot more than that to get that
precious KW/h delivered to our homes, businesses, or farms.
The actual cost of a KW/h to be delivered to your location anywhere in Ontario realistically
and more accurately is 14 cents a KW/h. Once you factor in in the line loss, delivery charge,
debt retirement charge, provincial sales tax and then finally the GST!
That precious KW/h ends up costing you much more than 5.7 - 6.8 cents.
And we still haven't mentioned the fact that every KW/h in Ontario purchased
is also being subsidized by our government which in turn means higher taxes. Great!
Imagine what would happen to the price of a KW/h if and when they stop subsidizing our energy?
Therefore every KW/h YOU produce could be worth anywhere between
14 - 80.2 cents a KW/h depending which program you get involved in.
With Net Metering every KW/h you produce is worth as much as you pay
for it. Therefore you do not end up paying a delivery charge on power you do
not end up using. By entering into a NET METERING agreement with Hydro One
you can stay connected to the grid always consuming the energy you produce first,
then only drawing on the grid when you are not producing the power you require -
and this all happens seamlessly.
Added Benefit:
If you are not using the power you are producing, you can store it on the grid,
and then use it at a later date. With Net Metering, you can store your power for
up to 12 months. Hydro One will not pay you, however they will allow you to use the grid
to store your excess power so that you may draw from it at a later time. Ie cottage
site storing power all winter on the grid, then using it in the summer months.
With MicroFIT you receive 80.2 cents a KW/h and a separate account along with
a separate meter and a cheque is issued every month by the OPA.
Your regular energy bill will be the same as usual.
Energy costs are going up - again!
Many property owners need to invest in wind and solar if they ever wish
to reduce their energy bills. Whether it be wind or sun property owners should
be able to produce their own energy to help offset escalating energy bills.
A professionally installed system only ADDS value to your business, home or estate.
A renewable energy installation that is professionally designed and installed will operate
and function for 30 + years. If maintained properly even well beyond that.
During that time, it will PRODUCE energy that will either offset your energy bills
or earn you revenue.
It time to start taking renewable energy seriously.
Think Long Term get PAID for the power
you generate with the microFIT and FIT programs
offered by the OPA.

A solar system will last for 30 + years,
even LONGER if maintained well.
Once you have factored in the added value your own onsite power generation facility
will add to your property, you will soon realize that renewable energy is a sound investment
that has only added cash value and reduced energy bills for your home.
Transferable warranties are available on many products, anyone who purchases
your home within the warranty period can have it transferred over to the new owners so that
they may enjoy it's benefits and protection.
You never lose when you install a renewable energy system in your home or business.
Your investment stays intact and the wonderful part of course is that your system
will produce electricity for years and years to come.
As a property owner renewable energy is a good investment period.
Times are changing, energy is very expensive, and energy is not going to get any cheaper.
A solar array or wind turbine is an investment that won't take long to pay off
with the MicroFIT and if you factor in all the positives and the 10%-15% ROI it will
add to your home or business bottom line.

If you ever find yourself having to sell your property, rest assured you have an
added selling feature as a 'Green Energy Home', that generates its own income.
Stand out from the crowd! Now your home can have the ability to offset if not completely reduce all its energy costs. The new property owner will appreciate the investment you have made and won't 'see' the installation cost as a separate item. As far as the new owner is concerned
their new renewable energy system will produce energy and generate enough to offset
energy costs the very first day the new owners take possession.
