This 9.2KW Wind and Solar Station will provide enough power each month to meet the demands of a home or business with a $450 per month total energy bill (Approximately 3000KW per month).
A Property size of 5 acres plus is recommended for this installation.
We are able to easily meet the demands necessary for this type of application by utilizing 3 Skystreams with the combined capacity to produce between 1200kw/h and 2400 Kw/h each month.
An additional 2KW capacity in solar will be derived from 16 Kyocera 130 Watt Panels that are connected directly to a Xantrex 2.8 KW Grid Tied Inverter. This inverter will seemlessly convert the power produced by the solar panels into utility grade power. This power will either be used by you, and if not, will be sold to the grid in terms of receiving kw/h credits.
Q. Why 3 Skystreams and not 1 large turbine?
Simple, because many townships state that you only need a permit if the turbine is 3KW or more in rural areas. That means you can put up 2, 3 or 4 turbines or more that are rated under 3KW each without the need for any permits. Not to mention in the event of any unforseen down- time, if 1 turbine is down the others are still operational. If you had 1 big 10K turbine, you will have to first deal with all the permits and guaranteed higher repair costs, on top of it all you will be completely down in your wind production.
. Smaller, cheaper and easier to maintain - basically the multiplication factor is the way to go, and the Skystream is an amazing work horse. These are the by-laws in New Tecumseth, just on the north side of hwy 9, check your local township by-laws to ensure you are in compliance.
